In a message to the 12th International Kish Energy Exhibition (KISH ENEX 2016), Ali Akbar Salehi said the event was significant as it was being held in a new setting which demands extra vigor to determine the country's role and share in the future of the world's energy.
“To prepare to face future conditions, the energy sector's future shall be duly considered,” he added, “this means that there must be a strategic vision in outlining the energy sector's long-term plans.” The four-day event is being held as Iran is gearing up to embrace lifting of sanctions which will pave the way for participation of international firms in Iran's energy sector.
Some 195 domestic and foreign companies have put on display the latest investment opportunities and capacities as well as achievements by manufacturers and producers of oil, gas, petrochemical, water, electric, and new energies. Deputy-minister of oil Kazem Vaziri Hamaneh inaugurated the event.
The 35 foreign firms come from Italy, China, Pakistan, Turkey, the Netherlands, India, South Korea, Taiwan, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, France, Austria, the UAE, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Australia, Russia, UK, Japan, Portugal, Canada, Kuwait, and Switzerland.
