The statement sent to Mehr News condemned the event as an outcome of tribalism and sectarianism which had infested the world of Islam; “once again, the scorpions of conspiracy crept into the peaceful bed of Islamic fraternity with the aid of blind tribal prejudice and the disastrous hands of the conspirators, this time directing their bite on Nigeria,” the statement metaphorically said. “Nigeria is now a living witness to the genocide, desecration of the sanctities, and disrespecting the circles of men of religion such as Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, who has been in a lifelong effort to call the people to God and His chosen characters,” elsewhere in the statement we read.
“No doubt that the international Zionism and their accomplices in the region are behind this terrible scenario; we do not cast even a tinge of doubt that such misguided crimes will fail to stifle Islamic world movement toward unity and solidarity,” the statement emphasized.
“World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought strictly condemns this criminal action and call Nigerian government to carry out investigation into the matter to reveal the hidden hands of the conspirators; we call Islamic Umma to join us in condemning the act and voice opposition and hatred toward the heinous crime,” it concluded.
