According to the Public Relations Department of Al-Mustafa (AS) Award, Mehdi Aliakbarzadeh highlighted holding of Light 0f Ibn Al-Haytham Student Film Festival; “in the present era, media are of special importance and have critical role. It seems that this is the time for the students to use new tools and innovative measures to discover their talents. It seems that Ibn Al-Haytham film festival provided the opportunity for the students to awaken their exploration senses,” he added.
Aliakbarzadeh emphasized upon the necessity of such contests; “one of the important programs of the government has always been honing the inquisitive mind of students, and I believe that these students will be able to study and explore the thoughts and services of a great character through this contest, especially from the angle of their camera. This contest is a good opportunity for the realization of government plans,” he said.
“Ibn Al-Haytham film festival and contest encourages the society to promote the move towards nurturing inquisitive minds and thoughts. On the one hand, it addresses the students’ inquisitive minds about light. On the other, one-minute films could also encourage others to ask questions and evaluate the situation. These could be considered the boons and outcomes of this contest,” Aliakbarzadeh emphasized.
He also called all students to participate in this cultural and artistic program; “it helps students fully recognize a great character and distinguished scholar who summarizes the history and conditions of knowledge in a national level,” Aliakbarzadeh told the meeting.
He described the role of the Ministry of Education in supporting the Ibn Al-Haytham film contest; “the Ministry seeks to educate students about history of culture and art. In this regard, it has held 44 rounds of film contests including Roshd Film Festival to realize this goal. So, as an official in charge for training, I use this tribune to announce the Ministry of Education’s support. If this program and similar ones proceed on the right direction, the ministry will wholeheartedly provide support,” he promised.
The first round of Mustafa (AS) Award ceremony will be held December 24-29 2015 in Tehran. Ibn Al-Haytham Film Contest is a side event of the Prize ceremony.
