According to the statement made public and communicated to Mehr News on Monday evening, representatives member to the Commission voiced condemnation of the killing of innocent Shia citizens; “the unfortunate and disturbing news of the crime against Shias by Nigerian military has hurt the sentiments of millions of people around the world especially Muslims; such atrocities well indicate the sheer lack of good governance and mismanagement of the affairs by the government; we have no doubt that such crime when the Islamic world is witnessing on daily basis killing of Muslim brothers and sisters by the Takfirists and Salafist terrorists, would effectively be evaluated as complicity with the international terrorism,” said the statement.
The statement also demanded that the Foreign Ministry summon Nigerian ambassador to voice Iran’s strongest protests over violation of basic human rights, and bring the case to international human rights organizations through UN mechanisms. “The Islamic Republic of Iran will spare no opportunity and capability in defending the rights of Nigerian Muslims especially Sheikh Mohammad Ebrahim al-Zakzaky,” it added.
