Eyewitnesses are reproting that soldiers from the Nigerian army calling all mourners still in the Hussainiyyah Baqiyatullah (Islamic Centre) in Zaria to come out or else they will storm the centre. Reports are coming that the military are advancing the home of the leader of the Islamic Movement, Ibraheem el-Zakzaky.
Demonstrations are also taking place across Nigeria in support of Zakzaky and the beleaguered mourners in Zaria. A protest outside the Nigerian High Commission in London is underway, with further demonstrations scheduled to take place today across South East Asia. An update of the story had it that approximately 30 people died in that incident. Last year three sons of the Sheikh were targeted and killed by armed forces during and after an Al-Quds Day march in Zaria.
