TEHRAN, Dec. 13 (MNA) – Pointing to the construction of the most advanced logging device in Iran’s oil industry, an NIDC official said the newly indigenized device will provide drilling services in joint oil fields.

Head of Well Logging and Well Completion Services at National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) Ramtin Tahmasbi described the new program to offer downhole services to the country’s oil and gas wells; “accordingly, the most up-to-date home-made well logging and completion device became operational at NIDC.”

“The addition of the new equipment, which marks the newest and most advanced oil and gas logging unit, will expand the range of services offered to oil companies operating in onshore and offshore areas,” he asserted.

Underlining that five well logging devices are currently in the cycle of operation, Tahmasbi enumerated major applications of the new equipment including installation and removal of downhole safety valves and injection faucets, depth detection, sampling as well as conducting various tests inside wells.

Stressing the superiority of the Iranian logging device over its foreign counterpart, the official asserted “the device was constructed with excellent features by a local company after exchange of technical data with NIDC experts and can compete with foreign models as a result of these synergies.”

Tahmasbi further recalled that the hallmarks of the device include automatic navigation systems, data recording as well as digital and analogue depth measuring; “the new well logging device successfully passed trial tests in North Yaran Oilfield in the shortest possible time after delivery.

“Availability of maintenance and after-sale services as well as reasonable price compared with the foreign models mark other advantages of the locally produced device,” he concluded.
