TEHRAN, Dec. 09 (MNA) – Iran is attending the 32nd International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent during which negotiations were made to launch an air hospital.

Director-General of Iran's Red Crescent Society Seyed Amir Mohsen Ziaei met the directors of the national societies of Canada, Italy, Spain, Germany and Maldives on Tuesday stressing on enhancing and expanding bilateral ties and cooperation.

Meeting the Vice-President of German Red Cross Volkmar Schön, Ziaei referred to the agreement signed between the two sides and hoped that it will soon come into effect.

He also asked the German Red Cross to cooperate with Iran to launch an air hospital.

Volkmar Schön, for his part, said that the German Red Cross has so far given shelter to over 150,000 Syrian refugees.

The Iranian official also met Conrad Sauvé, the president of the Canadian Red Cross during which both sides expressed readiness to expand ties in fields including training, rescuing, management experiences on youth and volunteers as well as technical knowledge. The significant issue of resilient societies against disasters was also discussed during the meeting.

The two officials also emphasized on expanding mutual cooperation through signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Ziaei also met the President of Italian Red Cross Francesco Rocca and discussed cooperation and holding joint training courses on implementation of international humanitarian law.

The two sides talked about following up the agreement signed between Isfahan and Florence’s Red Crescents.

Meeting the President of Spanish Red Cross Javier Senent García, the Director-General of Iran's Red Crescent Society announced the country’s readiness to cooperate with Spain.
