BAGHDAD, Dec. 06 (MNA) – Iraq considered a violation of the norms of international law the entry of Kurdish troops in its territory, and demanded their immediate withdrawal, while political sectors asked to judge for treason those who allowed it.

Iraqi President Fuad Masum, demanded the Interior Ministry on Saturday to take measures consistent with international law to ensure that Turkish military will withdraw from the city of Mosul and prevent that similar incidents could be repeated.

'We are in the midst of a severe tension in our region and under very difficult conditions in regional and international relations, while a military force entered from the neighboring Turkey into the depth of Iraqi soil', the head of state declared.

As Masum, the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi, urged authorities in Ankara to withdraw their troops and refrain from further violations that, he said, are bad for relations between the two neighboring countries and contribute to multiply tensions in the area.

All ministries involved, particularly the ones of Interior, Defense and Foreign Affairs, received instructions to proceed in accordance with the law to safeguard the sovereignty and independence of Iraq, he said.

Also, he noted that the purpose is 'to ensure political, diplomatic and security conditions for the relations with neighboring nations in a suitable and respectful way, with Turkey and with other countries'.

About 150 Turkish troops were deployed with armored military vehicles in the region of Bashiga, near Mosul, capital of the northern province of Nineveh, with the alleged purpose of training Kurdish Iraqi troops.

Mosul is under control of the ISIL from June 2014 and in the military actions against that terrorist organization there stand out Kurdish Peshmerga fighters subordinated to the government of the Autonomous Region of Kurdistan, which has close ties in Ankara.

The head of the parliamentary block Badr Organization, Qasim Al-Araji demanded the processing for high treason to those who allowed the entry of the Kurds to the outskirts of Mosul, and said he was surprised by 'this terrible silence of those who spoke of the entry of several visitors without visa'.

'Tanks and armored vehicles of the Turkish army entered and occupied the Zelekan camp on the outskirts of Mosul and now we see silence of those voices to this great violation and occupation of the country', said Al-Araji while urging the government, parliament and political blocks to comment on the issue.

He warned that the units of the Popular Mobilization and Iraqi security services are able to expel the Turkish, as when they fought against US occupation troops.

The political leader denounced Turkey's action did not occur without the consent of the international US-led coalition, in which Ankara 'participates by supporting and defending its policies, especially after the entry of the Russian military arsenal in the region'.

Iraq should be clear about avoiding to fall in the middle of the axes of war and withdraw from its territory any possible foreign interference taking place in the future, he concluded.
