Hamid Rezaeian Asl, Managing Director of Iran Ship Building and Offshore Industries Complex (ISOICO), made the remarks adding “the creation and implementation of dry ponds at ISOICO has provided the possibility of building and maintenance of the seventh generation of ships."
“For faster operation of the project and to alleviate potential problems, we decided to start negotiations following the Korean side’s request in order to expand joint activities,” he added.
He further asserted “Iran is going to launch partnership with Hyundai on joint markets in order to identify costumers for seventh-generation ships.”
In response to a question about Hyundai’s interest in partnership with Iran, the official continued “being the largest ship manufacturer in the Middle East, ISOISCO can mark the perfect partner for Hyundai of Korea knowing that the lifting of anti-Iran sanctions will definitely highlight more investment opportunities for the country in the region.”
He said the collaboration with Hyundai will be in the form of joint venture explaining “preliminary agreements have been reached and the cooperation will be carried out in stepwise fashion.”
“Activities in the field of ship maintenance forms a big market capable of providing huge annual profit for the country,” noted the official concluding “the dry ponds in ISOICO can support vessels with high capacities offering us great opportunities in this regard.”
