During his visit to Ecuador, Majid Takht-Ravanchi met with the country's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Integration Policy Xavier Lasso and discussed the potential ways to the development of bilateral relations.
He underlined that enhancement of ties with the Latin American states sets a priority in Iran's foreign policy.
Stating that independence and fighting colonization are the two important points common between the two countries, Iranian deputy FM said the commonalities are considered as the capital and support for bilateral relations.
He stressed that Iran is ready to enhance relations in different political, economic, trade, educational, health and technology fields.
Pointing to the changes in the international community and the considerable economic capacities in the Latin American region, he said, "In such an atmosphere, important opportunities have been created for cooperation and the path of cooperation should be paved for flourishing relations."
Lasso, for his part, said Ecuador's government also attaches great importance to deepening ties with Iran.
"Ecuador and Iran cooperate in the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations and this cooperation will continue," Lasso underlined, adding that his country is interested in expanding ties with Iran.
