KABUL, Nov. 29 (MNA) – Afghan forces on Saturday dismantled a terrorist base near the road that connects the cities of Kabul and Kandahar.

The National Security Directorate (NSD) reported in a communiqué that its forces occupied the camp during a joint operation with the police of Zabul province.

According to the NSD, the base was a training center and was used by the terrorists to attack means of transportation along the road, plant landmines and blow up bridges, among other actions.

During the raid, the security forces captured three insurgents and seized several homemade bombs and a large cache of weapons.

The road between Kabul and Kandahar is one of the most dangerous in Afghanistan, as explosions, kidnappings and armed clashes between security forces and insurgent groups are reported frequently.
