TEHRAN, Nov. 23 (MNA) – Iran’s Hassa Rouhani said that the country is ready to expand ties with Venezuela and added that all oil producers should cooperate to improve the condition of the oil markets.

The Iranian president made the remarks while receiving his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolás Maduro on Monday here in Tehran.

During the meeting, Rouhani stressed that the joint economic commission of Iran-Venezuela should be more active.

He added that Iran and Venezuela are two friend countries who are moving in the path of their nation’s welfare and progress.

In the post-sanctions era, the two countries’ joint economic commission should double its efforts, he said and voiced Iran’s readiness to expand scientific and academic ties with Venezuela as well as providing the country’s industrial and trade needs and implementing the joint agreements.

Talking about the summit meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Tehran, the Iranian president added that the member countries are after producing renewable energy and protecting the environment.

He also noted that Iran and Venezuela hold commonalties in political and regional issues.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, for his part, said that his country enjoys a good experience in cooperating with Iran in joint ventures and congratulated Rouhani for organizing GECF in Tehran.
