The event, scheduled for Nov. 30-Dec. 11 "will be held under tight security, but it is an absolutely indispensable action against climate change and will obviously be held as scheduled," Fabius told journalists in Vienna, where he was attending an international meeting.
He said one of the objectives of the meeting in Vienna is to see concretely "how we can intensify the international coordination in the struggle against ISIL.”
President Francois Hollande described the ISIL attacks as an act of war. He announced three days of national mourning and said security will be tightened by mobilizing additional army troops and police officers.
He also revealed that he will appear before Parliament on Monday to report on new measures to be adopted.
The world summit on climate change will focus on limiting global warming to the recommended leval of two degrees Celsius this year. If that limit is exceeded, the world will face a future plagued with droughts, floods and a devastating sea level rise, according to scientists.
