TEHRAN, Nov. 10 (MNA) – Iran Deputy FM for European and American Affairs said “Iran is keen to boost economic, political, cultural and parliamentary ties with Latin American countries.”

Latin American ambassadors to Iran and Iranian ambassadors to Latin America met with Deputy Foreign Minister for American and European Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi on Monday in Tehran.

During the session, Takht-Ravanchi said “The Islamic Republic is interested and resolved to enhance and deepen ties with Latin American countries particularly in the fields of economy, investing as well as multilateral cooperation.”

Talking about the latest developments in the international community and the significant economic capacities in the Latin American region, he noted that great opportunities exist for bilateral cooperation and the path should be paved for flourishing relations.

The visit of Latin American presidents to Tehran to participate in the upcoming Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) is indeed an opportunity for discussing bilateral and regional ties, he added.

He also hoped that Iran’s senior officials will travel to the region in a near future.

Talking about the Middle East, terrorism and extremist groups, he added that all regional countries and the international community should collaborate to counter the scourges.

Takht-Ravanchi also said that Iran will be faithful to its commitments regarding JCPOA and hoped that the sanctions will be lifted soon.

In the meeting, the ambassadors and representatives of Latin American countries including Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, Uruguay, Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina and Nicaragua, in separate statements, emphasized on boosting and expanding relations with Iran.
