TEHRAN, Nov. 07 (MNA) – An Iranian knowledge-based company has produced syringe filters through nanotechnology that will be ready to be distributed in the market in the near future.

Hamideh Azimi, a member of the board of directors of an Iranian knowledge-based company, told Mehr News that the domestically produced nano-syringe filters are made of two main parts; “one part of the syringe filter is a polymeric membrane with specific porosity and pore size and a supporting module which can easily be attached to a syringe and the second part is a high strength polymer that fully protects the membrane,” she said.

Noting that the company has designed the syringe filters via an electrospinning device that has been developed in the same company, Azimi added, “we used fibrous nanostructures to design the membrane with desirable porosity and pore size properties.”

Azimi maintained that the syringe filters will soon be marketed with much higher lifespan and lower prices than its commercial models already available in the market.

According to her, the syringe filters can be used in biological industries and laboratories, pharmacy, hospitals, analyzers, prints, etc.

Syringe filters are rather small filters that are placed on the path of biological and non-biological low fluid flows and filter out unwanted particles with specific sizes.
