TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (MNA) – EP President Schulz, according to Iran’s Parliament, will head a high ranking European delegation due in Tehran on Nov. 7.

The President of the EU Parliament Martin Schulz rescheduled his visit to Tehran and will arrive in the capital of the Islamic Republic on November 7, according to official web page of Iran’s Parliament. Formerly his trip was slated on October 12 but it was postponed.

The visit of the president of the European Union and his accompanying delegation is at the invitation of Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and with the aim to improve the relations between Tehran and Strasbourg.

The EP’s president will confer on issues of mutual interest during his stay in Tehran as he is scheduled to meet with President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Head of Parliament's Research Center Kazem Jalali and Chairman of Human Rights Commission at the Iranian Judiciary Mohammad Javad Larijani.

A delegation from the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament headed by Elmar Brok had, previously, visited Iran on 6-7 June, 2015.
