TEHRAN, Oct. 19 (MNA) – Iran and Italy have established a commission for joint cinematic cooperation following the negotiations made between Iranian Organization of Cinema and Italy’s Culture Ministry.

Head of the Iranian organization Hojjatollah Ayyubi who is in Italy, heading a delegation including head of Farabi Cinematic Organization Ali-Reza Tabesh, Executive manager of the National Cinema School Ruhollah Hosseini and the Iranian Cultural Attaché to Italy Ali Purmarjan, held a meeting with the Italian Deputy Culture Minister Nicola Brunelli on Monday.

The Italian official presented a report on his country's cinema industry, noting that Rome is keen to expand bilateral ties in the field of cinema with Iran.

He added that Iran’s cinema is well-known in Italy, and the Italians as well as its cultural figures highly respect it.

For his part, Ayyubi said that in the post-sanctions era Italy is a pioneer of boosting cultural ties with our country. Iran’s cinema industry developed in the past two years and nowadays cinema has turned into an inseparable part of the people’s lives.

He added that in order to implement the agreements between Iran and Italy, three fields of joint production, exchange of experiences and professors through joint workshops and development of the animation industry are required.
