TEHRAN, Oct. 18 (MNA) – Iran’s representative to IAEA has said Iran will implement Additional Protocol ad-hoc as a measure to build confidence.

Reza Najafi told Iran’s state TV broadcaster IRIB on Sunday that Iran had sent a letter to IAEA communicating to the Agency its implementation of the Additional Protocol whenever Parliament approved the JCPOA as a measure to build confidence, along with implementing provisions of modified Code 3.1 from the day of approval.

“The text of JCPOA clearly states that the ‘adoption day’ will be 90 days after the adoption of the UN Security Council of resolution recognizing the JCPOA a week after historic day July 14 2015; the 90-day period had been a time for involved countries to approve the JCPOA or make necessary adjustments in their domestic arrangements pertinent to the JCPOA; some obligations which are shared encompasses measures for preparation for the implementation day,” he told IRIB. “October 18, 2015 (today) is the day when the EU should adopt a resolution which states that economic and financial sanctions on Iran should be removed on the implementation day, with details available in JCPOA; the US also will allow the president to use his sanctions waiver as part of its obligations on this day,” he detailed.

Najafi also turned to Iran’s obligations for the day; “an obligation is Iran’s measures stated in the roadmap prepared and signed by the IAEA and Iran; two other obligations provisioned in the JCPOA is the preliminary actions to modernize Arak Heavy Water Complex, which was on the agenda in Vienna today,” he asserted. “On Monday, the Joint Commission will enter meeting in Vienna, and after that meeting, I would provide more information about the development,” he told IRIB.
