Putin spoke at the Summit of Heads of State of the Community of Independent States (CIS) in the Kazakh city of Burabai, which discussed 17 issues of military cooperation, border protection and collective efforts in the anti-terrorist struggle, according to the first TV channel.
Before representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Uzbekistan, Tadzhikistan and Moldova, the statesman reported on the results of the air strikes carried out by Russian military against the ISIL, asked for by constitutional Syrian authorities.
He described as critical the situation in Afghanistan, where extremists of different organizations attract more influence every day and do not hide their plans of expanding their influence.
The chief of the Kremlin reiterated his project of forming a wide international coalition to fight terrorism and underlined that negotiations on the subject are being held with Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, Israel and other countries of the Middle East.
We are taking steps to interact with the United States and Turkey, he expressed.
He clarified that according to different sources, in the ranks of the ISIL fight up to seven thousand extremists from Russia and other Soviet ex-republics.
In that regard, he indicated, very important are the exchange of information between security services of the Community of Independent States (CIS) and proposed to create a strategy of cooperation in this matter until 2020.
Putin reported that the participation of Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria is limited in time and will last while the Syrian land army continues its offensive against the ISIL and other terrorist groups.
The Russian President described as significant the results of Russian aviation against ISIL and other extremist factions in Syria, and indicated the aviation and other means are used strictly against the terrorists.
Putin ratified that air operation is completely in compliance with International Law and is absolutely legitimate, as it is carried out by an official petition of Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad.
Referring to the economic issue, the Russian leader suggested to lay down strategies so national economiesdepend less on foreign markets.
Concluded the CIS summit, Putin had an official meeting with his Belarussian peer, Alexandr Lukashenko, reelected in his country’s presidential elections last Sunday with over 83 percent of the votes.
