TEHRAN, Oct. 11 (MNA) – Iran’s 3rd annual Musicema Awards was held in Tehran’s Vahdat Hall, Saturday evening, which was attended by a number of noted Iranian artists and musicians.

The ceremony kicked off with a moment of silence for the Mina tragedy and its victims.

Best works

The golden prize in the section of the best traditional contemporary Iranian music album was given to ‘Rain drops’; the award was presented to Keykhosrow Pour-nazeri, Tahmours Pour-nazeri and Alireza Qorbani.

In the audience choice section, the golden prize was presented to Homayoun Shajarian's album’ The Occult and the Intoxicated’.

The golden prize for music composition in the traditional Iranian music composition part was given Hamid Motebasem for ‘Whispers’ while Alireza Afkari was awarded the prize in the pop section for ‘The fall of loneliness’.

Milad Derakhshani bagged the golden prize for ‘Esharat-e Nazar’, fusion and experimental music composition.

Mohammad Reza Darvishi received the golden prize in the section of region’s music album for his ‘Manzoomehay-e Hemasi’.

The golden prize of the best fusion and experimental album, in the audience choice section, went to Sohrab Pour-nazeri for ‘Hard Makeup’ which was sung by Homayoun Shajarian.

Singer Fereydoun Asraei won the award of the best pop album according to experts for his ‘Love means’ while the same award was presented to Ehsan Khaje Amiri for ‘The fall of loneliness’, in the audience choice section.

The award of the best pop rock album, chosen by experts, was given to Comment group while in the audience choice section, the prize was awarded to Reza Yazdani.

During the ceremony Iranian culture minister awarded two Orders of Merit to Abdulvahab Shahidi one for his singing and another for playing the oud.

Rasoul Younan received the best pop song award, chosen by experts, for ‘Coffeehouses’ while Rouzbeh Bemani was given a award in the section of best songs collections, according to experts.

The award of the best seller music album in the net, according to Beeptunes website, was given to Homayoun Shajarian for his ‘Neither Angel Nor Devil’ .

The special mention of the annual celebration was given to Behrouz Qaribpour for his puppet operas.

The award of the best contemporary and traditional Iranian music piece was given to ‘Fatherland’ composed by Navid Dehghan and sung by Salar Aghili.

Ali Zand Vakili, Behrouz Safarian, Soroush Samiei, Mohsen Chavoshi and Morteza Pashaei bagged awards in different sections as well.

Keyhan Kalhor was presented with the best award of classic, nations and modern music album for ‘Layers of Darkness’.
