TEHRAN, Sep. 30 (MNA) – British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond invited his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif to pay a visit to London.

Iranian foreign minister met his British counterpart in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting on Tuesday, the two sides discussed the latest developments in bilateral ties between the two countries and underlined the need to promote relations.

Hammond made remarks on the importance of British Prime Minister David Cameron’s meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of UN General Assembly and underlined the need for continuation of consultations on major regional and international issues.

During the meeting, Mr. Zarif elaborated the British side on the depth of suffering and casualties during Mina tragedy and discussed regional crises and its humanitarian aspects, particularly in Syria, and the latest developments in this regard.

The British Foreign Secretary also invited his Iranian counterpart to pay an official visit to London.
