Screened in the international contest section, the Iranian work was awarded with the Special Jury Mention at the Russian film festival held in Perm, Russia, from 18 to 24 September, 2015.
The documentary tells the story of Abbas, an Iranian man who dreams of creating a tourism empire at a village in southern Iran. However, his family disregards his dream.
The work earlier received Crystal Simorgh awards at the 33rd Fajr International Film Festival.
The movie also won awards at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, Millennium International Documentary Film Festival (Belgium) as well as in other international events. It is currently being displayed at the 11th Zurich Film Festival which will run until October 4, 2015.
The international jury of the Russian film festival was chaired by Leonard Retel Helmrich(Dutch director), Dwayne Johnson-Cochran(American director, writer, producer), Barbara Wurm(Russian curator, film critic), Aleksey Fedorchenko (Russian director, producer) and Nataliya Shostina (President of the International Festival of the Modern Ethno Cultures KAMWA).
In the previous edition, the festival hosted two Iranian works Iranian Ninja directed by Marjan Riahi and Mashti Esmaeil by Mehdi Zamanpour in the competition section.
It also dedicated a section to Iran’s Cinema Vérité.
The Scent of Lemon at Dawn by Azadeh Bizargiti, Heritage of Stepfather directed by Nima Mahdian, Memories for All Seasons by Mostafa Razaq-Karimi and A Grasshopper Turned into a Monster by Mohammad-Taqi Fahim were among the films screened at the section.
