Mohammad Javad Zarif and Yukiya Amano conferred on continued cooperation on the implementation of a Roadmap signed between the two sides.
During the meeting held at Iranian minister’s residence in New York on Friday, Amano expressed satisfaction over his last week visit to Tehran and meeting senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and underlined the continuation of cooperation regarding the implementation of the roadmap in a positive light.
Expressing gratitude to the efforts of IAEA in implementation of the roadmap, Zarif expressed hope that through positive cooperation between the two sides and timely closing of the files against Iran, IAEA and Iran would enter a new era of cooperation regarding the implementation of JCPOA.
Iran and the Group 5+1 finalized the JCPOA in the Austrian capital of Vienna on July 14. On the same day, Iran and the IAEA signed the roadmap for the clarification of past and present issues.
As part of the roadmap, the IAEA is required to finish its investigations about Iran’s nuclear activities and submit a report to the agency’s Board of Governors by December 15.
Heading a high-ranking delegation, Zarif is currently in New York to attend the first meeting of the Joint Commission with the members of the 5+1 and also the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
During his visit to New York, Zarif met with his counterparts from Indonesia, Australia, Romania, Egypt and New Zealand and discussed the development of bilateral ties with the countries.
