Speaking at a meeting with German’s Ambassador to Tehran Michael Freiherr von Ungern-Sternberg, Rezai said Germany needs to prove more courage in economic and political decision-making.
Pointing to the serious economic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Germany, Rezaei said Iranian nation hold a good view of the culture of the country and welcome the expansion of economic ties with German investors.
There are some activists inside and outside of Iran who do not want Iran to be close to Europe, Rezai said.
“The history has proved Iran cannot trust the US, however, we do not have such a problem with some countries in Europe, especially Germany,” Rezai said, underlining that Iran welcomes the good market in Central Asia due to the investments of German companies in Iran, and noted that issuance of necessary licenses for investment is accessible to Germany.
Baron Ungern-Sternberg, for his part, said Germany possesses the world’s second strong economy and the country’s foreign policy has become more active since 1990.
The ambassador also welcomed the continued presence of German economic delegations in Iran, saying that JCPOA provided proper conditions for German investors in Iran and expansion of ties between the two countries.
