TEHRAN, Sep. 23 (MNA) – President of Iranian Organization for Science and Technology (IROST) said Mesbah satellite was sent to Italy for final experiments and is scheduled to return to the country by the removal of sanctions.

“Mesbah, Iran’s domestically-made satellite, was sent to Italy to conduct final research studies in 2003 but it was confiscated there due to sanctions,” said Fathollah Moztarzadeh adding that, “the satellite will return to the country after the removal of the sanctions."

Noting that Mesbah satellite is a communication satellite, Moztarzadeh asserted that the satellite is one of the most advanced communication satellite in the country.

Mesbah satellite weighs 75 kilograms and is designed to circle the Earth 14 times a day.

The satellite is expected to operate for a period of three years, and to broadcast on VHF and UHF frequencies.
