Track 143, directed by Narges Abyar, is a screen adaptation of Abyar’s novel titled The Third Eye that narrates the story of a woman during Iran’s Sacred Defense against the invasion of Iraq.
The movie tells the story of a mother waiting for her son who has been missing in Pre-operation Valfajr during Iran-Iraq war in 1980-88. She looks forward to the return of his son for many years until she finally receives his bones brought to her in a coffin instead.
Abtar’s film production will be screened at the 8th edition of the International East-West Film Festival in Orenburg, Russia taking place from 12-18 September, 2015. The festival selects films which tell the story of how Europe and Asia - East and West - meet in a manner of cinematic productions.
Iranian filmmaker Abdolreza Kahani whose cinematic production Twenty has won a number of awards will be among the festival’s juries panel.
Track 143 has already won Special Jury Award for Best Actress at the Asia-Pacific Film Festival in Australia, as well as the Audience Award for Best Film at annual Reel Sydney Festival of World Cinema.
