Massoud Soltanifar made the remarks on Monday during Iran-Spain business conference held in Iran Chamber of Commerce. He explained that the policies of the 11th Iranian government is boosting ties with other countries as well as vast national and international investments in fields of infrastructures namely building hotels and inns, expanding roads, highways as well as airports and developing the transportation industry.
Political stability, security, the spirit of hospitality, low-cost services, unique cultural, historical, religious, artistic and natural attractions are the main elements of expanding tourism most of which exist in Iran, he added.
He noted that in 2014, Iran attracted some 5 million international tourists; a 5 percent growth compared to 2013. In 2014 over 6500 Spanish tourists visited the country- 70 percent growth- however considering Iran-Spain’s relations the number should boost.
Talking about IRAN 2026 Vision, he said that expanding the tourism industry is indeed the most significant way which leads to develop the country in social, cultural and economic fields. It is also effective in helping Iran to exist the oil-based-single-product system.
The Iranian official thanked the Spanish delegation and hoped for boosting bilateral ties particularly in the field of tourism.
A top-ranked Spanish trade-economic delegation consisting of representatives and managers of 70 Spanish companies as well as ministers of foreign affairs, energy and industry, and tourism are visiting Tehran.
