TEHRAN, Sep. 07 (MNA) – Minister of finance and economic affairs of Germany's Baden-Württemberg State announced his country's readiness to cooperate with Iran on auto industry.

Nils Schmid and Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh reviewed administrative strategies for industrial and commercial cooperation on auto industry and medical equipment.

Pointing to numerous areas for cooperation between the two countries, Nematzadeh underlined the identification of those fields. "Iran has currently powerful companies in the private sector which play an important role in promoting bilateral cooperation," he said.

Underlining the need for removing barriers on banking affairs between the two countries, Iranian minister said many areas are available for investment in Iran which is also supported by domestic law.

"Activities in different fields is different from those in the past, for now Iran has become an advanced, industrial country," Nematzadeh said, underlining the need for developing long-term cooperation between the two countries.

Nils Schmid, for his part, pointed to many specialist and active companies in Germany which can work with Iranian companies.

Confirming the words of the Iranian minister to determine the areas of cooperation, Schmid said, "at this point, Germany is ready to cooperate with Iran in the field of automotive industry and the medical equipment."

"We are confident that these meetings will open a new chapter in cooperation between the two countries," Nils Schmidt said.

Germany was the first country that dispatched a trade delegation to Iran after Tehran’s nuclear deal with the world’s major powers.

Germany’s Vice-Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel, who visited Iran in July as the head of a trade delegation including representatives of some German industrial giants like Siemens, Mercedes and Volkswagen Group, said a new chapter had opened in economic ties between Iran and Germany.
