TEHRAN, Sep. 1 (MNA) – In the final standings of the 2015 Men's U23 World Championship Iran ranked 7th while Russia claimed the after thy beat the struggling Turkish team 3-1 in the final of the competition held at Al Nasr Hall in Dubai on Monday.

In the final match of the competitions on Monday Russia held off a battling Turkey to win a thrilling 3-1 (26-24, 16-25, 25-18, 26-24) encounter on their path to grab the 2015 Men's U23 World Championship title. Russia continued age group run of success at all categories and put their name on this title for the first time in its second edition.

Italy captured the bronze medal following their exciting win over Cuba 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-23, 25-21).

Iran achieved seventh place in FIVB Men’s U23 World Championship after defeating Korea 3-1 (25-23, 25-20, 17-25, 25-15). Iran’s Pourya Fayazi Damnabi scored 16 points for winning team. Jiseok Jung’s 21 points performance was not enough for Korea to avoid defeat.
