Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with Secretary of State of the Swiss Foreign Ministry Yves Rossier in Bern on Saturday.
During the meeting, the two officials underlined the need for fighting terrorism and extremism, noting that the current measures to counter terrorism were insufficient.
Amir-Abdollahian and Rossier discussed the latest developments in Syria and Yemen, stressing the necessity of focus on political resolutions and dispatching humanitarian supplies to the war-stricken countries.
The two diplomats called for an immediate halt to the military aggression on Yemen and removal of the humanitarian siege on the innocent Yemeni people.
The deputy foreign minister once again underlined the significance of Iran's political plan proposed by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to the UN secretary general at the beginning of the crisis.
They also highlighted the necessity for completing political process in Lebanon and accelerating the election of a new president.
