TEHRAN, Apr. 15 (MNA) -- The Fourth International Exhibition of Police Security Equipment (IPAS 2005) is to be held in Tehran from April 24 to 27.

Over 300 Iranian and foreign companies are scheduled to participate in the event, which is being hosted by the Cooperatives Foundation of the Iranian Law Enforcement Forces.

Rasul Tavakoli, the manager of the exhibition, said that the fact that police experts and professionals from several countries would be attending the exhibition is a unique aspect of the gathering.

He referred to creating job opportunities, increasing production, and paving the way for domestic and foreign investment in national projects as the main objectives of the organizers of the IPAS 2005 exhibition, saying, “Making use of the most modern technologies, trying to reduce prices, making efforts to achieve optimal production, and creating economic interest through reforming the purchasing procedure are some of the other objectives of the exhibition.”

Tavakoli, who is also the managing director of the Pas Naji Company, stated that computers, ammunition, uniforms, and telecommunications, audio-visual, transportation, and x-ray equipment would be exhibited in the fair, adding that despite people’s assumptions, the IPAS 2005 exhibition is not just a fair for exhibiting police equipment but is also an event to exhibit a vast range of emergency and relief equipment, traffic control equipment, and educational systems.

In light of the significance of security and in order to make optimal use of all equipment and services by relying on modern technology, IPAS 2005 particularly focuses on security issues, and relief and rescue organizations are participating in the fair to help realize these objectives, he said.

He went on to say that he believes the fair will have a positive impact by promoting economic, social, and cultural development and improving police equipment, both qualitatively and quantitatively.

He also mentioned the problem of middlemen and called for direct contact between consumers and producers.

In conclusion, Tavakoli said that creating competition among producers by establishing logical relationships between various industries is another objective of the organizers of the exhibition.
