TEHRAN, Aug. 18 (MNA) – Setting up a committee of Iran and Syria’s joint media cooperation was suggested during a meeting held between a Syrian and Iranian official.

Senior political adviser to the Syrian Information Minister Ali Abdullah al-Ahmad met Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Director of International Affairs Abbas Nasseri Taheri on mutual media cooperation.

During the meeting, the Iranian official noted that some Syrian cities, particularly Damascus, are enjoying tranquility which indicates that the citizens are satisfied with the government.

Nasseri Taheri added that IRIB is ready to cooperate with Syrian media outlets. He also conveyed the suggestion of IRIB’s director on establishing a joint committee in technical and news related fields.

For his part, the Syrian official expressed his gratitude over the Iranian media’s impartial information dissemination regarding Syria’s developments and stressed the need for closer cooperation between the two Muslim countries.

He warmly welcomed the establishment of the joint committee and hoped that it would be set up in a short period of time.
