The CBI governor expressed Iran's willingness to enhance level of trade and economic ties with Japan.
Valiollah Seif made the remarks in a meeting on Saturday with the Japanese delegation including directors of oil and gas industry, insurance and banking system and Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Daishiro Yamagiwa.
Valiollah Seif said that Iran has plenty of grounds and capacities for investment and Japan is an advanced country in the field of industry and technology, so vast markets in Iran and the region are the opportunity for producing advanced industrial outputs.
He said that relations and interaction of banking networks of the two countries serve as a key infrastructure for economic relations, adding that during the sanctions Japanese banks helped Iranian trade partners.
He called for increase of Japanese banking activities in Iran saying that Japanese banks used to work in Iran as representatives, but, Iran currently wants to enhance level of activities and even establishment of branches of Japanese banks in Iran.
Daishiro Yamagiwa welcomed Iran's call for expansion of cooperation and said that he would convey proposals of the governor to Japan ministries.
Welcoming nuclear agreement, Yamagiwa expressed hope that the created opportunities could be used for strengthening economic relations.
In spite of international sanctions against Iran, Japan Central Bank had kept its cooperation with Iran and hopefully by the current opportunity, economic ties would develop.
