TEHRAN, Aug. 09 (MNA) – Iran men’s B national volleyball team lost the championship title to Japan in the final match of the 2015 Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship in Tehran.

The final match of the 18th edition of Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship took place Saturday evening at the 12,000-seater hall of the Azadi Sports Complex in western Tehran between Iran’s B national volleyball team and Japan.

Japan defeated Iran 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 25-18, and 25-21) and took away the championship title from the defending successive two-time champions.

Despite the good performance put on by Peyman Akbari's men, Japan managed to beat the Iranian outfit in three sets, and was only stopped by Iranian volleyball players in the third set.

The 2015 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship opened at Azadi Sport Complex in Tehran on July 31 and wrapped up on August 8.

Iran holds the championship title for two consecutive years in 2013 and 2014.
