After three attempts, Majid Farzin conquered the 225kg, 232kg, and 234km mark in the men's 80kg event and managed to claim the gold medal.
The title-win inspired him to register for the fourth lift, aiming to break his own world record with a 236.5km mark but he failed to secure the mark and set his record at 234km.
Athletes from China and Russia with records of 223km and 181km stood at second and third place.
Previously, Amir Jafari in the men’s 59km event managed to win the gold medal and Nader Moradi in the 72km clenched the silver medal.
