TEHRAN, Jul. 27 (MNA) – The deputy head of Spain’s University of Murcia expressed readiness to expand cultural and educational cooperation with Iranian universities.

Speaking in a meeting with Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Spain Alireza Esmaeili, Bernardo Cascales Salinas said the university is eager to sign a memorandum of understanding with Iranian universities.

In its 100 years of establishment, the University of Murcia has 35,000 students and 2,400 full-time professors, Salinas said adding that the university has 20 faculties spread over five campuses.

Esmaeili, for his part, underlined that their visit marks a good starting point to begin cooperation between Spain’s University of Murcia and Iranian universities.

He further said that the Muslim scientists in the Islamic era of Spain and Andalusia and their remaining works can provide profitable ground for bilateral meetings.
