The Iranian Humanoid Teen-size Robot team from Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) claimed the second place in the technical competitions of the RoboCup 2015 against other teams from US, German, India and Taiwan.
A worldwide competition for the making and operation of robots, RoboCup 2015 opened on 19 July in Hefei City, East China with the participation of more than 300 teams from 47 countries to showcase the latest robot technologies.
Iran participated at the international event with three teams in Humanoid Teen-size Robot League, Rescue Simulation League and Small-Size Robot Soccer.
During the first two days of the competitions, the AUT’s Humanoid Teen-size Robot team defeated India and tied three games against German teams to claim the second place and win the vice-championship title.
In the Rescue Simulation League, Iran competed against Egypt, Turkey, China and Japan and managed to qualify for the last round of the competitions.
RoboCup 2015, which focuses on three aspects of robot football, service robots and rescue robots, ends on 22 July in Hefei City, East China.
