Soroush Sadeghnejad added that Iran will be participating at the 19th edition of Robocup 2015 with three teams in Humanoid Teen-size Robot League, Rescue Simulation League and Small-Size Robot Soccer.
The RoboCup Rescue Robot League is an international league of teams with the aim to develop and demonstrate advanced robotic capabilities for emergency responders using annual competitions to evaluate, and teaching camps to disseminate, best-in-class robotic solutions.
Small Size robot soccer, or F180, focuses on the problem of intelligent multi-agent cooperation and control in a highly dynamic environment with a hybrid centralized/distributed system.
The humanoid robots have arms and legs, and are between 90 and 120 centimeters tall. If they fall over they can stand up again without assistance.
Sadeghnejad maintained that the aim of the Robocup competitions is that by 2050 a team of humanoid robots with fully human capabilities can compete against a team of humans and defeat them.
The 19th edition of Robocup competitions will be launched on July 17 and run until July 23 in Hefei, China.
