TEHRAN, Jul. 12 (MNA) – While Iranian search engine ‘Parsijoo’ was due to be launched in July, the project managers have postponed the date to late September in order to use newer services and improve its current condition.

In the 11th Steering Committee meeting of the project ‘Domestic Search Engines’ on July 2, it was decided that the completed version of the Persian search engine named Parsijoo will be launched late September.

According to the project managers, the number of users of Parsijoo search engine for the first year has been estimated at 500,000, for the second year 1.2m, the third year 2.5m, and the fourth year 4 million users.

Currently, the number of daily searches in Parsijoo stands at 200,000 times, 32 percent of which estimated via the Internet and 68 percent via the Intranet.

Alireza Yari, head of the Steering Committee of the project Domestic Search Engines told Mehr News corresponandt on Sunday that so far only domestic engines Yooz and Parsijoo have participated in the project.

He said that other search engines interested in participating in the project have only until July 14 to do so.

Iranian search engine ‘Yooz’ which is said to be capable of searching through one billion Persian websites was launched this Febrarury.
