ZAHEDAN, Jul. 11 (MNA) – The commander of Iran’s Border Patrol has announced destroying of an armed terrorist group in Mirjaveh in highly volatile southeast border regions.

Brig. Gen. Qasem Rezaei told reporters on Saturday that Border Patrol had been informed about the terrorist group and accordingly they had been under strict surveillance in southeast borders in close collaboration with other intelligence operatives, who helped estimate the probable whereabouts of the terrorist group in Mirjaveh Borders.

“Terrorist groups had been expected by our forces and in early hours of Saturday in midnight, we opened fire on them, killing several of them and arresting three; one terrorist was wounded,” said the commander. “They admitted sabotage operations and terrorist acts in Sistan and Baluchistan, Kerman, and especially in Bam; a considerable amount of artillery was seized from the terrorist group,” Rezaei added.

He also said that Second Lieutenant Towhidi was wounded during the operation; “a second border patrol staff has been martyred during the last night operation in the vicinity of Mirjaveh border with Pakistan,” he lamented.
