TEHRAN, Jun. 24 (MNA) – Iranian deputy Minister of Agriculture met with Dutch State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Sharon Dijksma and discussed ways to promote mutual cooperation in the field of agriculture.

Iranian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mohsen Aghaei who is currently in the Netherlands to attend the International Summit there, referred to the long-standing relations between Tehran and Amsterdam, and called for the continuation of cooperation and consultations at various levels.

He also noted the meeting of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte that resulted in the strengthening of bilateral ties, adding “the Islamic Republic of Iran is eager to utilize the existing capacities to expand the mutual relations with the Netherlands especially in the fields of agriculture, the transfer of experience and the increase of technical productivity.”

The Dutch official, for her part, expressed her country’s interest in pursuing closer cooperation with Iran in the fields of agriculture and genetic resources, hoping for the facilitation and increasing agricultural cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides also exchanged views on various ways to develop ties in the fields of research, education, and the formation of a joint agricultural working group.
