Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi attended a series of opening ceremonies in Iran’s Southeastern Province of Sistan and Baluchestan and put the optical fiber cable linking Iran and Pakistan into operation.
Connecting the two countries, the network has been on agenda since 2007, to improve the bandwidth of Pakistan and extend Iran’s transit of international information.
The Iranian minister also inaugurated a number of other projects including the intra-provincial optical fiber cables of 700 kilometers and 620 kilometers.
Meanwhile, to standardize the postal-address-locating systems, Vaezi sat the signing ceremony of an MoU between the Post Company of Iran and the Provincial government of Sistan and Baluchestan.
