CZESTOCHOWA, Jun. 07 (MNA) – Iranian men’s national volleyball team was defeated by Poland 3-2 in their second-leg World League Pool B match on Saturday.

Iran volleyball squad faced Polish volleyballers in their second-leg World League Pool B match held in the Hala Sportowa Częstochowa arena in the southern Polish city of Czestochowa on Saturday.

The Iranian squad managed to win two sets against the host players to gain its first point in the current season of the tourney.

Iran took the lead in the first set by gaining victory over Poland 25-22, but lost the second set with the same score.

The third set was once more in favor of the Polish volleyball players with the score of 25-16. The Iranian squad however intensified efforts to win the fourth set 25-22 only to be downed by Poland 15-6 in the tiebreaker round.

With 10 points garnered from 4 victorious matches, Poland is currently on the top of Pool B with the US in the second followed by Iran and Russia each with one point.

Iran has lost its four games against US and Poland in the 2015 FIVB World League.

Iran is set to take on Russia on June 13 and 14.
