Brig. Gen. Hossein Dehghan addressed a meeting on the occasion of the anniversary of heroic liberation of Khorramshahr in 1982; “the liberation came in the light of the heavenly blessings and special divine intervention and the extraordinary level of empathy and rapport between the nation and the government, a thing which was immortalized in the Leader’s calling of the year under the same theme,” said Dehghan.
“In the light of the same unity and solidarity, our nation has stood against the imperialism and their excessive demands during the war with Saddam Hussein and its Baathist Iraq; the unparalleled resistance was a thorn in the enemies’ side,” Dehghan asserted.
He also quoted Imam Khomeni’s famous lines about the liberation of Khorramshahr, which was indication that he believed in a providence and divine hands at work in the liberation; “learn the lessons of the history; genocide and crime against humanity, as God has promised, will bring nothing; since the God’s promise is unchanging; and no doubt that Yemeni oppressed nation will be the ultimate victor in the present confrontation,” he addressed the forces striking Yemen.
“Iranian nation saw this heavenly promise during the war, in battles which culminated in liberation of many southwestern cities of Khuzestan province; now, keeping unity and deepening the empathy among the nation would be the best to serve the ideals of the endeared martyrs of those heroic years,” he concluded.
