TEHRAN, May 23 (MNA) – Iran’s former ambassador to Lebanon said that Saudi Arabia has concluded that the continuation of military operations in Yemen has received no benefits.

In an interview to Mehr News, former Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Rokn-Abadi stressed that the resolution 2216, which indicates support for the aggressor, proved no hope on behalf of international communities.

Rokn-Abadi, pointing to the potential prospects of the developments in Yemen, highlighted that Saudi regime has concluded that the continuation of current situation in the impoverished country holds no benefits, but tarnishing the public’s view and provoking hatred towards the regime.

UNSC Resolution 2216 of 14 April 2015 represents a diplomatic victory for Saudi Arabia and its regional allies, in particular the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. In this Resolution, the Security Council remains silent on the Saudi-led military intervention in Yemen.
