TEHRAN, May 05 (MNA) – Iran's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman on Monday appealed to the international community for immediate dispatch of emergency supplies to Yemen.

Following the deterioration of humanitarian situation in Yemen, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham on Monday appealed to the international community for immediate dispatch of emergency supplies to Yemen.

Expressing deep concern over a possible human catastrophe, Afkham announced the siege of Yemen was counter to International humanitarian law.

She said the Saudi government has impeded sending of emergency supplies and drinking water which resulted in the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

Afkham reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is preparing a report to various international organizations in a bid to present its numerous attempts to assist the highly oppressed Yemeni citizens and the Saudi obstruction of the aid.

While condemning the usage of forbidden weapons by the Arab coalition against the Yemeni citizens which is confirmed by international organizations, Afkham added that, “unfortunately Yemen has fallen prey to multilayer and perilous plots made by its neighbors and also their international supporters.”

She criticized the absence and silence of the unbiased media and humanitarian organizations, saying that the true dimensions of the Saudi air raids and the war crimes perpetrated by the Saudi leaders and their regional allies in Yemen are not clearly reflected to the world public opinion.
