Delivering a speech at the closing ceremony of the Sayyad Shirazi Review of War Program in Dezful, Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan highlighted the Iranian military's full preparedness to defend the country against any threats, saying Iran’s decisive response will make the enemies regret their actions.
“The Iranian Armed Forces are so powerful and prepared now that can make any aggressor regret," the senior Commander said on Wednesday.
He called the US war on Afghanistan and Iraq a proxy war to guarantee Americans’ presence in the Persian Gulf waters for the sake of exerting more pressure on Iran.
Referring to Washington’s support for the ISIL Takfiri terrorist groups he added, “when they did not achieve their goal of putting pressure on Iran, they devised Takfiris to exert more pressure on our nation but the Iranian nation and the Armed Forces foiled the plots hatched by the United States.”
Brigadier General Pourdastan also reiterated that the country's borders, especially in the west, have been sealed against the traffic of terrorist groups and outlaws, adding that the Iranian forces would never allow the enemies to cross the borders.
Despite its defensive breakthroughs and self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and systems, the Islamic Republic has repeatedly assured other nations, especially its neighbors, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, stating that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
