TEHRAN, Feb. 16 (MNA) – President Rouhani has said with a strong political resolve on the part of western negotiators a final nuclear deal would be struck in the near future especially with China’s effective impact on the course of talks.

President Hassan Rouhani made the remarks on a Sunday meeting with Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi.

Stressing that Iran would never forget the history of good ties with China after the Islamic Revolution, Rouhani expressed hope for China’s further cooperation in reaching a final agreement in the nuclear negotiations with the six states so as to secure Iranian nation’s rights and develop international cooperation and various agreements.

Rouhani maintained that the strategic relations between Iran and China must increase now more than ever in line with bilateral and regional interests in order to persevere substantial security in Asia particularly the Middle East, as well as countering terrorism, extremism and the inappropriate intervention of some powers in regional affairs.

Chinese FM Wang Yi, for his part, noted that his country was determined to boost the level of cooperation and relations with Iran in all arenas.

He also pointed to the upcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Iran, asserting that this visit could have a historical impact on the development of ties between the two countries.

Wang Yi maintained that China wished for the nuclear talks to reach a comprehensive agreement as soon as possible so that the people of Iran could throw off the difficulties of sanctions and focus on energetically developing the economy, and for Tehran to play a more active role in the international and regional scene.
