TEHRAN, Feb. 12 (MNA) – Turkish Cabinet has approved the implementation of Iran-Turkey agreements on tourism industry.

On Wednesday, Turkish Official Journal publicized the approval by Turkish government of the agreements signed with Iran to cooperate in tourism industry. The publication is the authority to announce the end of administrative process of implementation of the agreement, which was signed along with ten other cooperation deals during a visit by Hassan Rouhani on last June to the country, with close involvement of Iran-Turkey Supreme Strategic Cooperation Council.

The agreement will allow the two countries to exchange rules, regulations, and investment plans in tourism and recreation industry. The deal will bring together Iran and Turkey in joint efforts to hold international festivals and exhibitions on tourism, promoting the place of the Silk Road, and to coordinate other activities with this objective.

Turkey is the major magnet of international tourism in the region, with more than 1.5 million visitors only from Iran annually. The number of Turkish visitors to Iran has only risen a little after the country improved part of tourism infrastructure. Now, 300,000 Turkish tourists visit Iran annually. The agreement draft will expected to play a crucial role in attracting tourists from Turkey.

With more than 36 million international tourists, Turkey makes an annual income of $ 36bn.
