Iran and Brazil have signed for the very first time a memorandum of cooperation between the State of São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Cognitive Sciences and Technologies Council of the vice-presidency for science and technology.
The MoU aims at promoting ties between the two countries’ institutes by conducting joint research and student/professor exchange on ‘Brain and Cognition’ studies.
On the sidelines of the initial negotiations for signing the MoU, Iranian and Brazilian researchers have been able to attend the scientific conferences and seminars held at each country to exchange ideas.
The MoU is for five years and has been signed by the head of the Cognitive Sciences and Technologies Council Dr. Kamal Kharazi and Dr. Celso Lafer.
The State of São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) is one of the main funding agencies for scientific and technological research in Brazil, and linked to the State of São Paulo's Secretariat for Higher Education.
